My photographs are concerned with enigmatic imagery that changes our perception of those around us. This is reflected in the subject often being captured in intense theatrical colour and light that has been staged within the scene, shadow and objects furthering the barriers between spectator and character. These images explore my personal fiction and how the individual creates an alternative dramatic world, to escape from reality. By making visual arenas that incorporate notions of decadence mixed with a tense beauty I’ve begun to question the human need to seek alternative realities and relationships.
